Murder Arrest Over Soldier's Death In Brecon

I found this story on the Sky News webpage. It was published on the 8th of May 2016 and it is written regarding the serviceman, who served with the Royal Gibraltar regiment and died after being found unconscious and injured in Brecon.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a soldier in Brecon town centre.
The serviceman, who has not yet been named, was found unconscious and injured on Lion Street at around 1am on Sunday.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance but died later.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: "Today in Brecon a 23-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the death of a man who was a serving member of the Armed Forces.
"He is being held in custody on suspicion of murder and the investigation is ongoing."

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "It is with great sadness and regret that the MoD can confirm a soldier from the Royal Gibraltar Regiment died in Brecon in the early hours of this morning.

"Dyfed-Powys Police are currently investigating and it would therefore be inappropriate to comment further on the circumstances.

"Our thoughts are with his family and friends and the regiment asks that their privacy is respected at this difficult time."

Kirsty Williams, the Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Brecon and Radnorshire, described the incident as "shocking".

She tweeted: "Clearly very shocking incident unfolding in Brecon town centre this morning. Will be keeping in touch with local police."

I decided to pick this story for my weekly news's it was one that quickly caught my attention due to being on the main page of the UK news, therefore showing that it had significance and importance within it. I think that this story would show a representation of issues as well as regions. This is because it presents the region of Wales as dangerous due to the idea of a solder being found dead, with no reasoning yet found and only one suspect found. In addition, this is also an issue for the country as it gives them a bad reputation as well as is something that dent occur everyday.
