Lambeth Bridge bus explosion: Central London blast for Jackie Chan movie sparks panic among unsuspecting bystanders

I found this article on the main page of the Independent, and it was written by Shehab Khan

The article explains that a bus was blown up on a bridge in central London as part of a filming for a new Jackie Chan movie, which sparked a temporary panic among unsuspecting tourists and bystanders.

A number of people in the centre of the capital were left shocked after the blast on Lambeth Bridge sent flames high into the air, with some witnesses fearing it was a terrorist attack.

But amid panic among some social media users, others pointed out that warnings had been issued that the explosion would be taking place on Sunday morning.

The blast will feature in forthcoming move 'The Foreigner', which will feature a cast including Pierce Brosnan and Jackie Chan. Sophie Kinsella was one of many local residents who took to Twitter to complain, and although signs being placed around the bridge and local residents receiving written warnings, many were still unaware of the planned explosion.

She tweeted: “Hey film types next time you blow up a bus on Lambeth Bridge maybe tell us first so children in park aren't freaked?”

In addition to this, I also came across this story on the BBC News web page. However, the article there only presented me with facts of what happened with no views and comments from any residents or witnesses.

I decided to choose this story, as it relates to the media industry, due to the obvious reasons of it being part of the filming process of a movie. Personally, I think that even though signs were put up warning people of what is going to take place, I don’t think that this stunt was a good idea, as it caused a very big issue among the community due to not everyone being aware of what is going to happen. This could have therefore, made many make unnecessary assumptions of what is happening bringing fear and panic.
