To Paris, with Love: Vigils held around the globe as the world's iconic buildings are lit up in the colours of the French tricolour to show solidarity in wake of Paris attacks

I found this story on the main page of the ‘Daily Mail’ website. The story straight away caught my eye and I decided to write about this week as it is relevant to the things that have been lately happening around the world.

The story describes how:

Ø Some of best-known landmarks from Shanghai to New York to San Francisco were lit up in blues, whites, and reds

Ø Hundreds of people painted their faces in colours of the French tricolour and held 'Pray for Paris' signs in London

Ø Even the fountains in London's Trafalgar Square were lit up, while hundreds of people gathered for an evening vigil

Ø Tributes come after at least 129 innocent people were killed in Paris in barbaric terror attacks in several locations

Personally, this story really had me going into a lot of thinking. It made me realize that even though the world and all the countries within it have recently been fighting and ‘arguing’ when something happened we are still able to join and show our support working as one. Even though the terrible incident took place in France this story clearly shows that it has affected everyone around the world in some way. In a way this story gives me hope that the world and the human kind are not all entirely destroyed by the continuous negativity of the media on others and growing prejudice and that we can still all show sympathy and support when others are in need.

  1. Well accounted and well description of the article with images. You gave a good opinion of the article and why it draws attention to you and possibly others. I would suggest adding the relevancy of this article to which ever news outlet composed this article, and why they did this article.
